Singtel backs amalgamation of Intouch and GULF

PVP Esports has announced the inaugural SuperGamerFest (SGF), a virtual festival that aims to delight the growing pool of gamers and esports enthusiasts across Southeast Asia.

Powered by Singtel and Globe, Singtel’s joint venture in the Philippines, SGF is set to take place over the first two weekends in December (5-6 and 11-13 December) and is a part of the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s (IMDA) annual Singapore Media Festival.

The fully digital event will feature interactive events and fringe programmes that gamers across the region can look forward to, including exclusive watch parties, interviews with popular esports personalities, educational workshops, masterclasses and the first-ever SuperGamerFest Awards – a platform to honour gaming content creators and esports talents from Southeast Asia. The regional finals of the PVP Esports Community Championships (Season 2) will also take place during SGF and see emerging champions from the Open and Campus categories across eight countries[1] battle it out for the title of PVP Regional Champion on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Valorant.

In line with PVP Esports’ core value of healthy gaming, SGF will also provide educational content on proper nutrition, exercise and mental wellness for gamers. Masterclasses and workshops will include coaching on specific gaming skills, as well as the mental and physical training involved in becoming an esports professional.

SuperGamerFest Awards: Celebrating the best and rising in content creation and esports

The SuperGamerFest Awards is Southeast Asia’s first regional gaming awards created to recognise the achievements and talents of gaming content creators and esports professionals, and celebrate the passion and creativity in gaming.

Nominations for the SuperGamerFest Awards will run from 23 October to 22 November 2020. Fans can show support for their favourite content creators and esports professionals from their home countries by submitting nominations across nine categories. Nominations can be made online at pvpesports.gg/supergamer2020#nominate.

The final winners will be decided based on a combination of fan nominations, quantitative analysis and judging by a panel of industry experts from the gaming and entertainment scene, media and influencer professionals, national esports organisations, game publishers and telcos. Award winners will be announced on 12 December as part of the SuperGamerFest.
