Norlys brings together sales and product development in a new commercial unit, led by Mads Meldgaard Jensen.
In the coming years, a central task for Norlys’ fibre business will be to connect even more Danes to the fibre network. To achieve this, the fibre business is now strengthening and focusing its commercial organisation by consolidating sales and product development into a pure commercial unit. Norlys has appointed Mads Meldgaard Jensen to lead this new unit, and he will also join the top management of the fibre business.
Mads Meldgaard Jensen comes from a position as head of OpenNet's market and product department and has been a central figure in building OpenNet's commercial business over the past six years. OpenNet offers a collaborative model and platform that connects internet providers with fibre network owners, and he has built a broad network among Danish fibre networks and various internet providers in the market.
"The fact that Mads comes from our subsidiary OpenNet means that he already has a good understanding of our business. Combined with his extensive knowledge of the telecom industry and experience in sales and product development, he is a significant profile who will be able to contribute to developing our fibre network and making it attractive to even more Danes," says Carsten Bryder Thejls.
Currently, 880,000 Danes have access to a fibre connection from Norlys, and more than half of them have already taken the opportunity to get a lightning-fast and future-proof internet connection from one of the 13 different internet providers on Norlys' fibre network.
Insights from Both Network Owners and Internet Providers
Before his time at OpenNet, Mads Meldgaard Jensen worked with product development at TDC Wholesale and was responsible for wholesale sales at the former Eniig, which merged with SE in 2019 to become Norlys.
Therefore, he is already well acquainted with Norlys’ values as he steps into his new role.
"It has been impressive to follow Norlys' massive fibre rollout from the sidelines, and now we need to build on that success and get even more people connected. From my time at OpenNet, I have had close contact with both network owners and internet providers, and I look forward to bringing my knowledge and experience into play so we can truly unlock the enormous potential that lies in Norlys' fibre network," says Mads Meldgaard Jensen.
