MC Digital Realty Picks Colt to Enable ‘Metro Connect’ Service

Colt Technology Services, a leading provider of agile, high bandwidth connectivity solutions, has announced that it is providing the connectivity for MC Digital Realty’s (MCDR) new Metro Connect service.

Colt is delivering the high quality, low latency, low cost and flexible connectivity that underpins MCDR’s new ‘Metro Connect’ service, which enables customers using data centers in central Tokyo and Osaka to easily connect to MCDR’s NRT10 and KIX11 data centres in other locations in Japan, including Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture via bandwidth from 100Mbps to 100Gbps.

According to the Digital Realty Data Gravity Index (DGx) report, after London, Tokyo is considered the world’s most data-intensive city. In addition, data transactions in Japan are expected to increase beyond those Europe and the United States, and Tokyo in particular is focused on the reconstruction of digital infrastructure using hybrid cloud. Customers of MCDR’s colocation product will use Metro Connect to connect directly to public cloud or internet service providers in such downtown data centers. The launch of MCDR’s new service comes in response to these trends, in order to support business transformation.
