In commemorating Indonesia’s 76th Independence Day, Indosat Ooredoo, the leading digital telecommunications company in Indonesia, continues to launch new innovations to support customers' digital lifestyles.
This time, Indosat Ooredoo seeks to provide direct integration between its UMB *123# and several digital payment platforms. For the first launch, Indosat Ooredoo offers an OVO e-wallet payment channel for customers to purchase mobile products and services via UMB.
This direct integration with the digital payment platform OVO offers greater convenience as customers can now directly purchase data packages from the Indosat Ooredoo UMB menu without the need to have sufficient credit. The steps are easy. After selecting the preferred data package in the UMB menu, the customer will be directed to the option of paying with an e-wallet. Customers can choose OVO as their source of funds, enter their registered OVO mobile number, and they will automatically be directed to the OVO mobile app landing page for payment authorization.
"Just like the theme of Indonesia's 76th Independence Day, Indonesia Grows, Indonesia Resilient, we want every innovation that we bring to enable Indonesians to be resilient and adaptable in this highly digital age. Until now, UMB is still the main channel to activate Indosat Ooredoo's mobile products and services. As e-wallet continues to grow as a preferred payment method in Indonesia, the integration of OVO with our UMB enables customers to get our products seamlessly. We hope that our innovations can further enrich customer’s digital experience,” said Chief Commercial Officer of Indosat Ooredoo, Ritesh Kumar Singh.
“We are very excited to expand our partnership with Indosat Ooredoo by enabling customers to pay with OVO when they purchase mobile products and services through Indosat Ooredoo UMB. As OVO becomes widely used for credit top-up or data package purchase, we hope this partnership will bring OVO closer to customers and take the benefit of it,“ said Chief Marketing Officer OVO, Ershad Ahamed.
Soon, Indosat Ooredoo plans to add more e-wallet funding options to provide an integrated UMB platform. Some of them include GoPay, ShopeePay, DANA, LinkAja, and IMkas. Previously, Indosat Ooredoo had also integrated several e-wallets, including OVO and GoPay, in its myIM3 applications.
