iBASIS, the leading provider of global communications and IoT connectivity solutions, announced the continuation and strengthening of its collaboration with Team Visma | Lease a Bike, one of the world’s most elite professional cycling teams.

Now supporting the World Tour team for a fourth consecutive season in 72 races across 20 countries, iBASIS provides a scalable and customized IoT connectivity solution that powers the team’s operational performance across Europe and beyond. From data uploads and logistics coordination to digital access on the road, iBASIS enables secure, high-performance connectivity before, during, and after every race.

“Our four-year partnership with iBASIS has proven to be both trusted and adaptable, and we’ve experienced a 30% improvement in network reliability. Unlike traditional providers, iBASIS offers the flexibility and network expertise we need to stay connected across Europe and beyond, with 100% race coverage access without streaming restrictions,” said Wesley de Veer, ICT Lead at Team Visma | Lease a Bike. “Their ability to route traffic intelligently and adapt to our evolving requirements has made them an integral part of our operational setup, helping ensure our entire team stays connected and aligned throughout the race season.”

As part of the ongoing agreement, iBASIS serves as an official connectivity supplier, delivering a non-steered, multi-network SIM solution that allows Team Visma | Lease a Bike’s vehicles and staff to remain reliably connected across borders—without roaming barriers or network steering limitations.

Currently, iBASIS supports 75 active SIMs across 22 team cars, 25 trucks, campers, and support vehicles, and 4 team buses, backed by a 15TB shared data pool. This infrastructure helps power post-race performance uploads, communication among staff, and access to digital resources across the team’s 230+ members.

“We’ve delivered seamless, flexible connectivity designed to meet the demands of world-class cycling,” said Joachim de Wild, VP of Global Sales and Business Development at iBASIS. “Our IoT solution supports their operations before, during, and after each race—helping ensure performance, coordination, and efficiency at every stage.”

The partnership will be spotlighted at the upcoming GSMA Wholesale Agreements and Solutions (WAS) #21 event in Dubai (April 8–10), where iBASIS will showcase how its customized connectivity supports performance-driven organizations.
