IPTV/OTT platform provider Green Streams and Swisscom have entered into a strategic partnership for the Swiss market. As part of the partnership, Green Streams has integrated Swisscom's state-of-the-art TV and video backend and content delivery network (CDN) with the Green Streams “Media Integration Platform” and the Green Streams white-label frontend applications. This creates a flexible, high-performance and cost-efficient TV and entertainment service for network operators of all sizes in Switzerland.

Since the contract between the two companies was signed in the summer, Green Streams' flexible end-to-end IPTV service has quickly gained traction in the Swiss market. This end-to-end service includes Swisscom's video backend and Green Streams' Media Integration Platform for efficiently managing all product and business aspects of a network operator in real time, including front-end applications. The service thus covers all relevant end devices: from set-top boxes, smart TVs and Apple TV to mobile devices.

Green Streams also provides ready-made meta-aggregation of 3rd party content. This means that Netflix, Disney+ and all other relevant SVOD providers are already integrated in the STB launcher without the individual network operator having to conclude an individual contract with them.

Each network operator can thus operate freely on the market under its own brand, with its own product logic, its own upselling logic and its own content discovery – without any restrictions. This is a significant leap compared to all other end-to-end offerings on the Swiss market.

Green Streams will present this flexible end-to-end IPTV service, including the streams provided by Swisscom, for the first time live at the Suisse Digital Day in Bern on November 19, 2024.

“With Green Streams, we have found a strong strategic partner that will set the standard in Europe in terms of multi-client capability and flexibility,” explains Elias Gutscher, Lead Partner Integrations TV & Entertainment at Swisscom. “We are convinced that Green Streams' offering, which is based on our modern video backend platform, is particularly attractive for small and medium-sized network operators, both technologically and commercially.“

“It was clear to us that the Swisscom video backend is the best option for offering Swiss network operators of all sizes the best IPTV and OTT product in combination with the Green Streams platform,” says Gernot Jaeger, CEO of Green Streams. “Together, we are setting
new standards in terms of quality, reliability, redundancy and efficiency, and we have put together a package that will help network operators achieve their TV and entertainment goals.”

Green Streams has developed a highly efficient and flexible TV / entertainment platform for network operators. This Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) platform is optimized to integrate existing “best-in-class” components, depending on the market.

In Switzerland, Swisscom's video backend has now been integrated. Green Streams was founded in 2021 by Gernot Jaeger and Ivo Stock, who previously held leading positions at Zattoo and Viacom, for example, for many years.

Green Streams' customers today include the Swiss telecommunications group Sunrise, with the MySports OTT product, which relies on the Green Streams platform, and Elisa, a leading network operator in Estonia. The Green Streams “Media Integration Platform” has recently been repeatedly nominated for prestigious industry awards.

Swisscom is Switzerland's leading ICT company and, with Fastweb, the strongest challenger in Italy. The company offers private and business customers mobile, internet and TV services as well as comprehensive IT and digital services. Swisscom is the most sustainable telecommunications company in the world and 51% of it is owned by the Swiss Confederation.
