Elisa Confirms Faults in Submarine Cable in Gulf of Finland

Elisa has confirmed that it is experiencing faults with submarine cable connections between Finland and Estonia in the Gulf of Finland. Faults were detected on Wednesday evening in two submarine cables owned byElisa. 

Elisa has contacted the Finnish and Estonian authorities, who are investigating the matter. Due to a redundant network design, the issue does not affect Elisa's services in Finland nor Estonia.

Faults with Submarine Cable Connections

The disturbances may have affected some companies and operators who have purchased direct transmission connections from these cables. The preparations for the repair are underway.
