DOCOMO PACIFIC has announced a strategic partnership with Lynk Global, LLC (“Lynk”), a pioneering satellite-direct-to-device (D2D) service provider. This collaboration marks an important step toward bringing enhanced connectivity solutions to parts of Guam and the Marianas where traditional telecom infrastructure may be challenged or underserved.
Lynk previously received the world’s first commercial license for international satellite D2D service. They recently were approved for a modification to their FCC license to enable them to launch commercial services. In order to connect to critical areas in this region, they have partnered with DOCOMO PACIFIC.
“This is incredibly exciting for Lynk to be the second direct-to-device provider licensed for commercial service in the U.S. We are taking great strides on our mission to connect everyone, everywhere and this approval demonstrates our progress on our strategic roadmap. It enables Lynk and our trusted partner, DOCOMO PACIFIC, to provide services in parts of the country that are underserved or out of reach from conventional mobile networks. We want to thank the FCC for quickly granting our license modification to provide service in the United States,” said, Amy Mehlman, EVP and Chief Global Affairs Officer, Lynk Global, LLC.

“We are elated to be chosen by Lynk as their trusted telecommunications partner. Lynk’s approach to satellite-direct-to-device technology aligns perfectly with our vision of bringing ‘Tomorrow’s Islands, Today’. While we are still working on laying and testing the foundation for the service, this solution could mean better connectivity to areas where traditional telecom assets are not feasible. This partnership announcement underscores DOCOMO PACIFIC’s enduring commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies and global collaborations. As a result, this brings reliable, high-quality communications services to every resident and business in Guam and the Marianas,” commented, Christine Baleto, President and CEO, DOCOMO PACIFIC.
