Cataleya, a global provider of IP, networking and technology innovation, has been selected by Sanntuu Corporation, a telecommunication carrier in Japan, to deploy its next-generation Session Border Controller (SBC) Orchid One.

Orchid One allows Sanntuu to offer Managed Interconnect services enabling carriers to efficiently and smoothly migrate from TDM to IP in the next few years, as Japan plans to phase out TDM by 2024.

The migration of networks from TDM to IP is complex, expensive and tedious. To speed up Japan's IP migration, Sanntuu will use Orchid One's SBC and Switching capabilities to handle inter-operators' IP connectivity, and provide them with a simple, economic and unified solution with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) and Experience (QoE) over IP. Sanntuu's customers will also benefit from Orchid One's real-time fraud detection capabilities, which delivers critical visibility into network functions. But more importantly, with Orchid One, Sanntuu will offer a secure and scalable solution that is compliant with Japan's stringent interworking regulations.

“We were impressed that Cataleya was able to meet Japan's strict technical requirements, while also providing cost-efficiency and guaranteed quality. It simplifies our approach and enables us to provide critical interconnect services in Japan” said Jorge Takata, General Manager at Sanntuu Corporation. “Cataleya was by far the best solution for our needs, in terms of quality, unique capabilities, and offers us exceptional and unmatched features.”

Sanntuu Corporation was established in 1999 and provides communications services across Japan. Its core offering includes international calling, deployment and resale of IP circuits, call center and IP PBX solutions, interactive voice response (IVR) and other APIs to the telecommunications industry.

“Sanntuu has a tremendous opportunity to support service providers across Japan and internationally to achieve a smooth and prompt transition to an all-IP infrastructure, while meeting very specific requirements . As IP adoption grows, Orchid One enables a seamless transition with guaranteed QoS and QoE,” said Andreas Hipp, CEO and Chairman of Cataleya. “I am extremely proud that we were able to meet Japan's strict interworking requirements and give Sanntuu an efficient way to address real demands for all-IP networking. Very few vendors have been able to achieve this.”

Orchid One was specifically designed to enable the delivery of IP communications services and high-performance applications. It offers service providers full end-to-end QoS and QoE, with visibility from the transport to applications layers. This is critical for the delivery of advanced communications services. With Orchid One, customers can manage network operations with near real-time analytics related to session, service, application, MOS/R-factor scores, network and end-to-end SLAs.
