Zyxel Communications announced that the company’s flagship WiFi-6 product , the AX7501 -B0, has successfully completed the Broadband Forum’s BBF.247 GPON international certification program and XGS- Is PON certified.
“The Broadband Forum’s BBF.247 certification program sets the industry standard when it comes to data and technology interoperability for providers,” said James Harris, product manager, EMEA, Zyxel Communications. “This certification accelerates the IOP integration for already installed OLTs from various providers and gives the operators the security of implementing larger and more complex deployments and still reducing fluctuation.”
By leveraging Zyxel’s OPAL software, which is already used in millions of devices, the AX7501 helps providers implement and migrate new technologies quickly and easily. In addition to the technical capabilities of the AX7501, Zyxel’s BBF.247 certification is indicative of the company’s next generation fiber optic access solutions.
The Broadband Forum’s BBF.247 certification program has helped pave the way for new broadband technologies by addressing a variety of ONUs and testing different VLAN profiles and functions. The certification of ONU devices ensures compliance with the specifications TR-156 and TR-280 of the Broadband Forum and the G.998-GPON standards of the International Telecommunication Union.
