Globetouch, a global provider of connectivity solutions for businesses worldwide, has announced that it has secured additional funding both from existing shareholders, prestigious technology leaders CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd and Digicel, as well as from new strategic investors NTT DoCoMo, 263 China, and Qihoo 360 Technology Co. Ltd.
Globetouch works across all business verticals and across the entire spectrum of connectivity. The client base includes mobile operators, M2M service providers, MVNOs, OTT providers, connected devices OEMs, device distributors and enterprises offering end-to-end solutions for their businesses.
This current investment will enable Globetouch to further drive development in the 100 plus countries where the firm currently operates, support expansion into new markets and accelerate the development of new products.
MNO revenues are today only growing at 3-4% per annum. Roaming revenues particularly continue to remain a very small element of MNOs’ overall revenues, highlighting the need for operators to develop a value proposition that enables them to offer the kind of attractive global connectivity rates and service proposition that could revolutionize this market and open new revenue streams for them.
By working with MNOs, MVNOs, and OEMs around the world, Globetouch’s pioneering CloudSIM technology removes the barriers to global connectivity for mobile operators and OEMs, through creating a unique global collaborative ecosystem of network operators with local rates, and device manufacturers. This is supported by a cloud-based infrastructure and BSS/OSS, and channel partners made up of the enterprise and operator community.
This revolutionary approach to connectivity drives valuable revenue streams for operators and reduces supply chain barriers for OEMs, while simultaneously enhancing the customer experience.
Globetouch’s technology also increases speed to market for new products through eliminating the need for MNO dependencies across territories. This way, MNOs can create vital new revenue streams through the intersection of mobile with other industries.
Globetouch is led by a team of experienced visionaries from the telecommunications industry, passionate about cloud-based communication platforms. Ori Sasson, CEO, who boasts extensive venture and hands-on business experience, has founded a number of pioneering companies and holds one of the most solid investment track records in the venture community.
Commenting on the growth potential, Ori said: “We’re experiencing immense momentum right now globally and are extremely pleased to have received the financial backing from these respected global operators. This is supporting our ambitious growth plans and Globetouch’s unique model for global connectivity. We know that MNOs are seeking opportunities to maximize revenues and the Globetouch ecosystem is providing a real opportunity to increase their revenue through global connectivity”.
