Zyxel Communications has expanded its Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and In-Building Solutions, including the industry’s first indoor and outdoor LTE Cat. 18 routers that deliver gigabit LTE speeds; and a simple yet innovative Repeater Hub solution that eliminates in-building mobile coverage dead zones. The solutions will be on full display at Mobile World Congress 2019.
New offerings include three indoor and outdoor LTE Cat. 18 routers—LTE5398, LTE7690 and LTE7490—that deliver gigabit speeds to meet rising demands from bandwidth-hungry users. Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) devices for the US market also join the family, covering all customers’ needs globally.
These latest additions complete Zyxel’s comprehensive FWA portfolio, which provides a wide array of choices from 3G and mainstream 4G LTE Cat. 4 to premium 4G LTE Cat. 18. Zyxel will also reveal its first 5G router in the 2nd half of 2019.
“With the UK’s regulator soon to impose policies that will fine service providers if a broadband or landline outage lasts more than 24 hours, the pressure is mounting,” said Allen Lin, Vice President at Zyxel Broadband EMEA Business Unit. “Providing internet access using mobile network technology could help them avoid compensation charges and increase customer satisfaction, and that’s where our full range of FWA solutions comes in. It also unlocks immense opportunities for service providers looking to deliver wireless high-speed broadband services in underserved, remote areas.”
In-Building Solutions to eliminate mobile dead zones
Zyxel will also showcase its latest In-Building Solutions (IBSs)—the brand-new Repeater Hub and SymmRepeater—at MWC 2019. The first of its kind, Zyxel’s Repeater Hub provides the benefits of both DAS and repeater, making in-building systems management easier and eliminating poor mobile coverage inside small-to-medium buildings, such as hotels, hospitals, department stores and office blocks.
Meanwhile, the SymmRepeater reaches beyond traditional repeaters by providing up to 400 meters of reach without dropping signal quality. Its patented design sidesteps noise by amplifying signal before it travels through cable, making it ideal for high-rise buildings and underground spaces, such as wine cellars or tunnels. The two new offerings join Zyxel’s growing list of multi-system (2G/3G/4G), multi-band and multi-carrier In-Building Solutions that support easy-to-deploy, economic CAT5 cabling for virtually all connections.
Zyxel will exhibit at 5G10, Hall 5, at Mobile World Congress 2019, which takes place at the Fira Gran Via, in Barcelona, from Monday, February 25 to Thursday, February 28.
