Vivo V3 Max Review – Delivering Looks, Performance and Style

Vivo V3 Max is a super looking smartphone that also delivers good performance, however, it could have been priced a bit lower as in today’s evolving smartphone market there are many companies which are vying for similar customers and it gets difficult to create differentiations if the product is priced on the higher side.

Positives

Vivo is a Chinese smartphone brand which has been able to establish itself quite well in the Indian market. The company has launched V3 Max in India, in the month of April for a price point of INR 23,980.

This is a metal unibody smartphone that comes with 4 GB RAM, and HiFi music technology which has become a unique proposition as far as Vivo smartphones are concerned.

The metal unibody given by the company has ensured that this smartphone carries a unique look and feel and is also quite light in weight. This is also given this smartphone an elegant grip.

This smartphone has a AK4375 music chipset along with a fingerprint scanner. According to the company, the back cover of the phone is made of aluminium magnesium while the front display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass coating. Additionally, the fast charging technology given in this smartphone proved to be quite handy, when we revived the device.

The company is providing 32 GB of internal storage with this smartphone. It comes with a hybrid SIM slot in which, second slot can also hold a micro SD card. As taking pictures has become one of the most important features of a smartphone – this device comes with 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera. When we used this camera it has given us good results in broad day light. However, the night images are not that good in quality.

If we talk about its display, Vivo V3 Max comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display and Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor. It runs on 3000 mAh battery which has faster charging technology that claims to offer 2 hours of music playback in just 5 minutes of charging. We tested it and found to be quite handy for busy times – when one is on a mobility mode and has little time for charging smartphones.

Display

This phone has a great display! The display of Vivo V3 Max smartphone is 5.5 inches. While reviewing this smartphone, we enjoyed watching movies / video content on this display. This display has full HD resolution which is quite good for this price range.

User Interface

Vivo V3 Max smartphone comes armed with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system but it delivers a unique customized interface with the help of Funtouch 2.5. when we reviewed this product – we found the interface to be quite user friendly and easy to use. When it comes to security, this smartphone has a fingerprint sensor.

Performance

While reviewing this smartphone, we rigourously used it for gaming, videos, music, and of course making calls as well. It didn't hang or showed any lag while put on heavy multitasking activities. So it has surely delivered great performance for the time we reviewed the product.

On the other hand, we did face issues with its battery. The V3 Max was not that good when it comes to battery backup. The phone at best can run for about a day with just about medium usage.

Camera Performance

The V3 Max comes with a combination of good cameras. Its cameras - a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera – deliver quite good results and are quite fast to open and operate well under dim lights as well.

Final Say

There is no doubt that Vivo V3 Max is a good smartphone, while delivering 4 GB RAM and a metallic body for its consumers. However, it could have been priced a bit on the lower side to give advantage to end users.
