Vivo Shares its Blueprint to Manufacture Smartphones in India, Unveils its Latest 'X5Pro Smartphone'

Close on the heels of selling about half a million handsets in India, Vivo, a smartphone brand from China is set to assembling and eventually manufacture its smartphones in India itself. The company has launched its latest 4G LTE X5Pro smartphone in India today as well.

In a phased activity, the company is first planning to rent space in Noida and bring its high end smartphone assembling units from China. Later on it is planning to create its own manufacturing unit in Greater Noida as well. By the end of next year, the manufacturing unit will have more than 2000 people.

“We are looking forward to having Indian assembled smartphones within the next three months first and then we will be manufacturing smartphones here as well. By the end of next year, our manufacturing unit will have about 2000 people. We will be investing INR 125 crore in this direction,“ explained, Jerome, DGM, Vivo India.

Since it started operations in India, about eight months back, the company has sold more than half a million smartphones in India and now it is planning to sell more than 2 million units by the end of next year.

Vivo India Launches Hi-Fi & Smart X5Pro

Vivo has launched its latest Smartphone X5Pro. This product is inspired by the beauty of the “Drop of Water”.
