VimpelCom Ltd., a global provider of telecommunications services, headquartered in Amsterdam, has announced that Ghada Gebara has been selected as CEO of Optimum Telecom Algeria, a company operating under the Djezzy brand name.
Jean-Yves Charlier, Chief Executive Officer of VimpelCom says: “We look forward to welcoming Ghada to our team. We are confident that her strong sector knowledge and experience will take to the next level our operations in Algeria to drive growth and improved performance.”
Prior to joining Djezzy, Ghada served as CEO of Iraqi mobile operator, Korek Telecom, from August 2011. Ghada has also held a number of other senior industry roles including CEO of Digicel in Haiti from 2005 to 2007, and CEO for Digicel’s French-speaking markets in the Caribbean region and Honduras. As Djezzy CEO, Ghada will work closely with Global Telecom Holding CEO and Djezzy Executive Chairman, Vincenzo Nesci.
Ghada has an Executive MBA from the University of Quebec in Montréal a telecom engineer Diploma from the Institute des telecom National (INT) and a Masters in Information Systems from the University of Le Havre in France. She is a French citizen and will be resident in Algiers.
