Flash Networks, a provider of mobile Internet optimization and monetization solutions, has announced that Thai operator AIS’s N.O.W service is powered by Flash Networks’ Layer8 monetization solution.
The N.O.W service is being used to engage with customers to build customer loyalty while offering real time balances checking and package offering, trending content, special discounts and coupons.
AIS reports that based on results from a pilot with over two million Android subscribers, it has experienced significantly higher response rates when compared with other mobile advertising channels. Based on the positive results it plans to make the service available to all 40 million subscribers by the end of this year.
AIS subscribers use the N.O.W. service powered by Layer8 to check account status, recharge account and receive notifications of new data packages and relevant digital content including mobile apps, movies, calling tunes and popular content. Layer8 is clientless and works on all types of mobile devices without requiring an application download.
Providing an entire ecosystem for mobile content, Layer8 enables operators to become super publishers with an opportunity to promote higher targeted consumer products and services to their subscribers, hand-in-hand with OTT players.
“In addition to being an effective tool for building customer loyalty, Layer 8 provides us with an opportunity to team up with content providers and local businesses to deliver new services for our subscribers’ enjoyment,” said Wisut Ua-Anant, Head of Online Channel Management & Application, Game Marketing Manager at AIS. “Using the additional real estate on mobile devices for increased engagement creates new revenue streams while reinventing the way we interact with our subscribers.”
“We are proud to team up with AIS, content providers and local businesses to discover new differentiating services to boost profitability,” said Liam Galin, President and CEO of Flash Networks. “Our success at AIS shows that Layer8 provides a true win-win-win scenario in which subscribers, operators, and content providers all benefit.”
