Together with public transport company Pohjolan Liikenne, Telia Finland is developing smarter bus traffic in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The new IoT solution enables optimised driving while reducing fuel emissions.

The IoT-solution enables drivers to monitor real-time data for fuel consumption and electricity usage

“As a company, we are committed to significant measures to stop global warming. Our goal is to have zero emissions by 2030 throughout our value chain, all the way from subcontractors to customers. With the digitalisation of heavy traffic, we can achieve great things together. We have implemented corresponding IoT solutions in Sweden, for example, where Telia has a 65 percent market share of the public transport’s digital services,” says Kimmo Sulin, Head of Large Corporate Customers Sales at Telia Finland.

“This collaboration allows us to develop bus transport with the environment in mind. We want to be a pioneer of low emmission public transport and contribute our share to the climate effort by utilising modern solutions,” says Heikki Alanko, CEO of Pohjolan Liikenne.
