SaskTel has expanded its interNET Extended 10 service to 25 Indigenous and Northern communities in Saskatchewan.
“Today’s announcement further illustrates SaskTel’s commitment to provide the residents of our province with high quality and reliable communication services so that we all may take full advantage of the economic, social, and educational opportunities the world has to offer,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel.
With download speeds up to 10 Megabits per second (Mbps), interNET Extended 10 delivers service that is twice as fast as the current Internet package available in these communities.
“With today’s announcement, the residents and businesses in these communities will now be able to enjoy all the benefits that faster Internet service offers, such as seamlessly streaming music or video content, quicker downloads, and generally a more responsive Internet connection,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO.
All SaskTel Internet packages include unlimited usage, in-home Wi-Fi and 24/7 helpdesk support – all for one low monthly price.
This Internet upgrade is part of SaskTel’s commitment to invest $301 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2018/19 and over $1.4 billion through 2018-2023. These investments will ensure that all Saskatchewan residents will continue to receive some of the best communication and entertainment services in the world.
