Samsung Unveils Tizen based 'Samsung Z3' Smartphone for INR 8490

Expanding the Tizen based device portfolio, Samsung Electronics has launched Samsung Z3, a Tizen-based smartphone in India.

The next generation Tizen smartphone, Samsung Z3, designed and manufactured in India, has been packed with a host of services and features for first time smartphone adopters in India. Samsung Z3 promises to deliver a superior and differentiated smartphone experience, which would be Rewarding, Engaging & Efficient, while retaining the original attributes of smart, simple and fun.

Samsung Z3 comes preloaded with a new Rewarding platform My Galaxy, which would extend personalized exclusive deals and offers to consumers. Samsung’s exclusive partnership with Mix Radio, the easiest to use, most personalized and most fun music streaming service available, has also equipped Z3 with the most “Engaging” entertainment service thereby taking fun aspect on Z devices to next level.

The incorporation of new features such as Ultra Data Saving mode, which offers up to 40% mobile data savings, coupled with Ultra Power Saving mode makes Z3 easily the most efficient smartphone. These feature when combined with Z3’s efficient Tizen platform and premium design at an attractive price point makes the device a very compelling smartphone of choice for first time smartphone up-graders.

Samsung’s India R&D engineers developed My Galaxy, Mix Radio, Ultra Data and Power Saving modes, Special Days UX and Enhanced Messaging--features, which are specific to Indian consumers.

My Galaxy is a new and unique consumer engagement platform, which offers consumers differentiated value added services. These range from personalized offers, an exclusive music service, continuous value on extensively used categories like recharge, travel, movies, fashion etc to post purchase care and assistance. Samsung has tied up with brands such as Amazon, Paytm, BookMyShow, and Pizza Hut among others for consumers to enjoy these services through an integrated platform and to discover new and amazing things every day.

Engaging entertainment experience with MixRadio

The Samsung Z3 builds on the consumer insight for need of easy and constant access to entertainment. Various consumer interactions have shown that music is one of the key activities that users indulge on their mobile devices. Samsung Z3 comes pre-loaded with a highly personalised music streaming experience.

With integration of Mix Radio on Samsung Z3, consumers will have access to thousands of curated mixes from a catalogue of over 30 million songs. This includes extensive local catalogue of 12 Indian languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Bangla, Odiya and Marathi. Z3 users would not only have an option of streaming music from these languages but also to take music offline keeping them entertained at all times.
Next Level of Efficiency for Indian Consumers

Samsung Z3 features the newly introduced ‘Ultra Data Saving’ mode, providing data compression and app management capabilities resulting in up to 40% mobile data savings and up to 50% longer standby time. The same has been specifically developed keeping in mind the Indian consumer’s requirement for affordable internet and long usage time.

To further enhance the battery longevity, Samsung Z3 carries forward the specially Made for India Ultra Power Saving (UPS) mode, which was introduced on the first Tizen smartphone, Samsung Z1. The UPS mode allows users to operate on standby for over a day even with less than 10 percent of battery remaining, thereby keeping consumers in touch at all times. Coupled with a long lasting 2600 mAH battery of Samsung Z3, the consumers will get the most efficient and affordable internet experience.

Advanced Viewing and Camera Capabilities

Samsung Z3’s superior 5-inch HD screen, powered with Samsung’s advanced Super AMOLED technology delivers 40% more colour and 100 times better contrast ratio versus normal TFT LCDs for true-to-life images. The device is also equipped with an 8 megapixel rear camera with a F2.2 aperture that captures clear and detailed images. Further, the 5 megapixel front-facing camera offers advanced selfie capabilities, which is complemented by various photography modes ranging from ‘Automatic Selfie’ mode with facial recognition, ‘Beauty Face’ mode that automatically retouches images for flawless skin to ‘Wide Selfie’ mode to capture up to 120 degrees angle for that perfect group selfie shot.

Price and Availability

This product will be available across all Samsung’s retail channels from the coming week at a price of INR 8490. In the online space, it’ll be available exclusively on Snapdeal.

Users will get up to 1GB of data free per month for two months on Vodafone networks allowing them to download and surf at will; making the fullest use of their Z3 Smartphone.
