Samsung Galaxy M31s is an all in one device that comes at an affordable price point

Samsung Galaxy M31s carries all the M series signature features of big battery and superb camera hardware – it is recently announced by Samsung and is quite affordably priced at INR 19,499 for the base variant. Galaxy M31s packs in some very interesting features that makes this device a wonderful option in this market segment.

Design and display

The M31s sports a plastic unibody design which appears is delivering quite premium looks with its glossy finish and gradient colour combination. The phone comes in two options of Mirage Blue and Black.

The M31s is 9.3mm thick thanks to its powerful 6,000mAh battery. On the bottom of the device, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack. The left edge of the phone there is the dual-SIM + microSD slot, while on the right side of the phone, there is the volume rocker placed high along with the device power button.

As far as the display is concerned, with this device, Samsung is giving punch-hole style Infinity O display – which looks quite stylish. The M31s has a 6.5-inch display with a Super AMOLED panel at FHD+ (1,440 x 2,400) resolution. The display of this device is quite bright enough to read under the harshest sunlight and goes significantly dim at night.

Camera Performance

The Galaxy M31s comes with a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor primary camera. The ultra-wide lens is a 12MP sensor with a 123-degree field of view while the other two are 5MP depth and 5MP macro sensors.

While reviewing the device, we learnt that it produces detailed photos with good focus and just about right color combinations. Photos pack in a good amount of exposure and the AI enabled scene detection delivers the much needed detail element according to the scenario. Bokeh pictures taken by Galaxy M31s were quite good thanks to the 5MP depth camera.

When it comes to night photography, the Galaxy M31s does provide you with a dedicated Night mode which is quite useful for powering up the exposure of low-light pictures.

The front of the device comes with a 32MP selfie shooter. Selfie quality is quite good and the camera takes care of the skin tone and facial features. Portrait mode photos from the front were also quite good with this device. Overall, this device does extremely well in the camera department.

Performance and software

Samsung is delivering M31s with Exynos 9611 SoC. It is an octa-core SoC based on a 10nm manufacturing process. The device comes with upto 8GB of RAM along with 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

This helps the device in terms of smooth handling of multiple tasks, and as a result, you can have a great day-to-day experience while using multiple applications in the background or browsing through several tabs opened on Chrome.

Samsung Galaxy M31s boots the OneUI 2.0 skin based on Android 10. This is delivering quite smooth UI experience with simplified settings option and tons of theme customizations which can be accessed quite easily.

Powerful Battery

Powerful Battery has become a signature element for Samsung’s M Series and this device is no different. Galaxy M31s comes with its humungous 6,000mAh battery power. With M31, Samsung is providing 25W charging inside the box.

You also get a Type-C to Type-C cable, and the M31s can actually be used as a power bank to charge other phones as well. With the faster charging speeds, the Galaxy M31s charges up at a faster rate than its predecessor at about 100 minutes.

With Galaxy M31s, Samsung is delivering great value for money. This device packs in everything and is quite affordably priced. You get an improved camera setup, a punch-hole style display, faster charging speed and an awesome battery power. This is an ideal device for those who look forward to having everything at a reasonable price point.
