Russia's ТТК, China Telecom launch high-bit-rate telecommunication route connecting Europe and Asia

TransTeleCom (ТТК) and China Telecom, one of world largest telecommunication operators, have completed joint large project and constructed the first terrestrial high-bit-rate telecommunication route connecting China and Europe.

The 100G bandwidth route will be used by international clients to transport large data bulks from Asia to the major exchange point in Frankfurt.

A new gateway interface built on the border between the countries became the key element for project successful implementation. TransTeleCom and China Telecom have interconnected communication lines at Russian Zabaikalsk and Chinese Manchuria.

Due to the signed contract, the telecom operators may now offer optimum data transfer route to their international clients that value equally transportation speed and network reliability. TransTeleCom has the most advanced permanently loopback infrastructure and covers more than 20% total data transportation from China to Europe.

Geographically, Russia is the optimal communication bridge between Europe and Asia as it offers the shortest path and as a result minimum signal transmission delay. Terrestrial links, unlike subsea transmission solutions, provide better reliability, channels backup capabilities, and availability for fast trouble-shooting. These criteria are very often critical for both European and Asian clients when selecting a transmission service carrier.

TransTeleCom has reliable extensive backbone network that runs along railroads. This year the operator has completed the changeover of all its international backbone traffic to Long Haul DWDM technology.

The state-of-the-art 20,000 km LH DWDM network offering as many as 80 optical data transmission channels 100G each, ensures safe data transportation for thousands of kilometers with small number of regeneration points and minimum signal latency, at only 153 ms.
