Initiating launch of 4G services for about 120,000 employees, Reliance Jio has launched its much awaited, data driven 4G services for its employees at a gala event in Navi Mumbai.
Bringing 4G cheers to the company's employees, and business partners, Bollywood biggies, Shah Rukh Khan and AR Rahman performed as part of the launch event.
As part of this launch, Reliance Jio 4G services will now be available to about 120,000 Reliance Jio - employees, their family members and business partners across India - from Monday onwards.
It is important to note that Reliance Jio, a green field 4G player, still holds the highest amount of liberalised spectrum among telecom operators which can be used for deploying any technology for mobile services. The company has a total of 751.1 MHz spectrum across 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands.
With this limited launch under way, according to sources close to the company, it is now expected to commercially launch its 4G services across multiple cities of India around March 2016 with a very competative and affordable data intensive price packaging for the consumers.
