Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), the global wireless and broadcast infrastructure provider has unveiled new models of its low PIM directional couplers and power dividers. Designed to support in-building and in-tunnel wireless applications using DAS systems, the latest products from RFS provide a cost-effective way to divide and distribute power as needed.
Optimized for PIM performance and with minimal solder joints, RFS’ couplers and dividers are available in a variety of options - including two, three and four way splitting – and are ideal for use with RFS’ ICA aluminum and copper plenum-rated wideband cable.
RFS’ directional couplers split up signals to be directed to multiple locations throughout a site, such as different floors. Unlike a power divider, directional couplers have a coupling port and can compensate for feeder cable losses at higher floors. Two, three, and four-way power dividers are also available and are typically used for equal splitting of the RF signal (usually to in-building antennas), and generally they are located downstream of the directional coupler.
“RFS is a one-stop shop for network planners and system integrators looking for a full portfolio of products to accommodate all of their in-building wireless needs,” said Matt Grella, product manager, wireless indoor solutions and transmission lines, RFS. “The release of our new couplers and dividers gives our customers more options - in multiple configurations and at the right price point.” All of RFS’ couplers and dividers are IP65 environmental class and recognized by iBwave solutions for use in telecom network planning. Models are available in both N Type and 7-16 DIN versions.
