Design, Display, & Build

When it comes to design, the OPPO F17 features a 7.45mm ultra-sleek body and comes with a unique leather feel panel on the back. This device only weighs 163g and this is surely making this device one of the lightest smartphones available in the market.

The design of this device is super impressive and thanks to the unique leather touch - this smartphone feels top notch premium quality when you hold it in your hands. The leather feel back panel is something unique and you can choose from the Navy Blue, Classic Silver and Dynamic Orange color variants.

Thanks to the leather finished back panel, the OPPO F17 doesn’t attract any fingerprints on the back and you can easily use it without a case. It comes with a rounded square camera module on the back. This device also comes with a 3.5mm Audio Jack along with a USB Type-C port and the speaker grill in the bottom.

Talking about the display of this device, it features a stunning 6.44-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch on the top. This is a 60Hz refresh rate Super AMOLED panel and the device comes with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 Pixels. OPPO F17 has an In-display fingerprint scanner that works really very well and we never faced any issue with this while review the device.

The display is really bright and you won’t face any problems while using the device in low lit harsh lighting conditions as well. With this device, you can seamlessly enjoy content from Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube in its best quality without any performance issues.

Dark Mode is present on the device and OPPO F17 also allows its users to adjust the screen color temperature as well. We were also able to make use of the Always-On display of this device to check time, battery percentage, and much more without actually picking up OPPO F17.

User Interface and Software

OPPO F17 runs on the latest version of ColorOS from OPPO – ColorOS 7.2 which is based on Android 10. It offers a lot of customization options to its users. While reviewing the device, we did not face any issue with ColorOS 7.2 and the overall experience was smooth and completely lag-free.

This device comes with some preinstalled apps like DocVault, MusicParty, Amazon Shopping, but most of these applications can be uninstalled quite effortlessly and hence, you can save space on your device as per your own needs.

Hardware Performance

OPPO F17 is powered by an 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core SoC. And it is further coupled with an Adreno 610 GPU and paired with 6/8 GB RAM combination. We reviewed the 6 GB RAM Variant and it delivered a seamless performance without any lag.

We were able to do a lot of multitasking with this device and most of the regular usage Apps like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Maps, and Twitter work perfectly well in the background without any issues.

Camera Performance

OPPO F17 comes packed with a Quad Camera setup at the back which consists of a 16 MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture + an 8 MP wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture + a 2 MP monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture + a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. This combination of camera sensors is delivering awesome results. And on the front of this device, there is a 16 MP Shooter that takes care of your selfies and video call needs.

The camera app of this device comes packed with additional features that include an Extra HD Mode that takes higher resolution images, Portrait Mode, Night Mode, Beautify filters etc. It does a great job in daylight as well as low light conditions.

While reviewing the device, we did not face any issue with its camera features and the results were quite good. All in all, the camera performance is much more than what a customer would expect from this price range.

Battery Life

OPPO F17 carries a powerful 4000 mAH battery that comes with support for 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 technology. This means that you can easily rely on this device to support you through the day, just with a single charge.

And we experienced this while reviewing the device and it used to run smoothly for a day while we used smartphone for streaming videos, surfing the web, and other everyday tasks. If you are into gaming, you can get up to 4-5 hours of continuous playtime depending on the types of games and graphical interface you are playing.
