Openet, a global provider of real-time BSS (business support systems), has extended its partnership with telecom service-layer innovator OpenCloud. The new agreement enables Openet to resell OpenCloud’s products and further strengthen its voice capabilities for both legacy intelligent network (IN) replacement and VoLTE opportunities.

The two companies have previously collaborated to integrate Openet Evolved Charging with OpenCloud’s Rhino Sentinel service layer. The integrated solution enables operators to migrate from outdated legacy IN service control points (SCPs) to a modern best-of-breed combination for real-time charging, rating and policy control. Under this new reseller agreement, Openet have further integrated with OpenCloud technology to deliver a comprehensive voice, messaging and data IN replacement solution.

Legacy IN replacement remains a key concern for mobile operators. Driving out the high costs associated with maintaining aging products while enabling efficient change are essential in preserving overall profitability. Closer integration between Openet and OpenCloud will help operators overcome these issues and accelerate time to market for new services and business models.

“We’re pleased to be strengthening our partnership with OpenCloud,” said Niall Norton, CEO, Openet. “By reselling OpenCloud’s technology, we can add further value to our market leading IN replacement capability and deliver an unrivalled solution to mobile operators around the world.”

“Telecoms operators need solutions to take them forward more competitively” said Jeff Gordon, CEO, OpenCloud. “The combined OpenCloud-Openet solution is well-positioned to lead the market in meeting those needs."
