OnePlus 3 is not only a power-packed smartphone – it has a great camera as well. The primary camera of the OnePlus 3 carries a 16-megapixel Sony IMX 298 sensor, which is giving this smartphone a super edge.
On the other hand, the front camera of this smartphone has an 8-megapixel sensor with 1.4-micron pixels. Both these cameras when used – deliver great results. While reviewing this smartphone we took it to the hills – Manali and the camera delivered some of the most astonishing pictures.
When it comes to video - the rear camera of this phone can shoot video at up to 4K (though it takes a lot of space to store such videos). This also has capability to shoot slow motion video at 120fps, while the front camera can shoot video at up to 1080p at 30fps.

Additionally, the rear camera comes packed with optical image stabilization feature, phase detection autofocus and RAW image format support as well. This helps a lot if you want to record natural information with pictures without any compression. RAW is a file format that captures all image data recorded by the sensor when you take a photo. When shooting in a format like JPEG image information is compressed and usually lost.
And in case a user is looking forward to modify settings, the menu controls specific settings related to only the mode that are there, so a user will have to switch modes to modify settings such as video resolution etc.
And as far as still camera functionalities are concerned – users can change the aspect ratio or toggle the self-timer in the smartphone. Additionally, flash, HD shooting, HDR mode and the camera switcher functionality is also available. We found it to be fairly simple and easy to use.
When you start using OnePlus 3 camera- you will quickly realize that this camera is particularly good while you are taking pictures in outdoor settings and in good light – the camera produces pictures that are sharp and detailed and the colors are closest to natural colors. Autofocus feature in this camera is also quite fast and can be easily handled.
OnePlus 3 carries a special camera wherein - the optical and electronic image stabilization help in producing great stills and videos. However, the camera does seem to struggle a bit when it comes to low-light shots.
When we shot videos with this smartphone - the results were quite good. Videos carry incredible amount of detail at full-HD resolution, and users also have an option to go up to 4K if you want them sharper video quality output.
Carrying on the video mode - slow motion and time lapse modes produce quite good results as well.
The front camera of this smartphone works wonderfully well as well and takes surprisingly sharp pictures. So in a nutshell - OnePlus 3 camera packs a lot of power and is surely more than enough for regular smartphone photography.
