Nokia, Linkem enable Industry 4.0 in Italy with Digital Automation Cloud

Nokia, DOCOMO and NTT make two key 6G advances

Nokia has signed a strategic reseller agreement with Linkem S.p.A., the Italian 5G operator with a market share of over 40% in fixed wireless access (FWA) solutions.

Thanks to Nokia’s 5G-ready private wireless network platform, Nokia Digital Automation Cloud, Linkem will be able to provide customized service solutions for a variety of sectors – enabling Industry 4.0 transformations throughout the country.

By combining Nokia’s secure, 5G-ready platform with onsite data management, processing and services, enterprises can better support real-time applications such as predictive maintenance, remote operations and smart manufacturing as well as IoT and smart applications for logistics, energy (including oil & gas, mining, solar and wind farms), retail and transportation.

The agreement is part of Linkem’s 5G strategy, aimed at developing innovative ecosystems through the proposition of value-added services tailored to enterprise and public administration segment. The agreement will enable the development of Industry 4.0 services.

As a result of its vision of “company as a service” for dedicated specialized wireless technology, Linkem has been able to attract over 500m euros of foreign investments and is implementing an industrial plan to develop 5G solutions.

Chosen for its flexibility, simplicity of use and extremely short time-to-market, the 5G-ready Nokia Digital Automation Cloud is a high-performance, end-to-end networking and edge computing platform. This agreement opens a potential market of several million euro to Linkem and Nokia as these industries more seamlessly transition.

Linkem will launch Nokia’s Digital Automation Cloud services in Q3 2020.
