Innovative connectivity solution from Nokia is enabling Airtel and RJIO deliver next generation home automation services for their end customers in India
Global telecommunications gear manufacturing organization Nokia is all set to provide its ‘Fiber CPE’ to telecom operators in India which can enable their smart home offerings at the end customer level. The company is already engaged with Bharti Airtel and RJIO on pilot basis.
Driven by next generation-ready technology, Nokia’s Fiber Optical Network Terminal or Fiber CPE is all set to help operators deliver unique market differentiations in the form of Smart Home solutions.
“Fiber CPE is a great solution that can enable a number of smart home solutions such as Home Security or Connected Home packages for operators. We are already engaged on pilot basis this with Airtel for about two months. Very soon Airtel will be using this to enable a number of smart home offerings for its customers,” informed a source close the development on conditions of anonymity.
Recently, Nokia has showcased this solution as part of – Nokia India Innovation Day showcase.
Working on the similar lines, Greenfield 4G operator, RJIO is also working with Nokia to enable smart home capabilities for its future customers.
The product comes with 64 sensors that can enable a number of connected home or security applications for the customers. RJIO has already deployed this at more than 200 locations. Delivering operators a cutting edge over the closest competition, this product can work on next generation communication protocols such as Zigbee and Zwave as well as regular communication technologies.
“As RJIO is looking at creating market differentiations, this kind of offering will surely deliver that. We have done about 100 deployments in Mumbai, more than 50 in Ahmedabad and New Delhi and about 50 in Jamnagar,” the source from Nokia added.
