RADWIN, the global wireless broadband provider, has announced that leading service provider Internet Solutions Mozambique (IS Mozambique) has deployed RADWIN’s JET PRO Point-to-Multipoint solutions with Bi-Beam antenna technology to deliver high-capacity SLA-based services – from 25 to 100 Mbps – to leading enterprises in the Banking, Mining and Oil and Gas sectors.

Stratosat Datacom, a leading technology company and RADWIN’s certified partner, headed project distribution for this project.

Hugo De Wet, Chief Commercial Officer, IS Mozambique: “We’re using JET PRO 750 Mbps base stations in 5GHz to replace low-capacity WiMAX equipment that operate in the 3.5 GHz limited licensed spectrum. JET PRO provides fiber-like speed and overcomes massive interference. Even in Maputo – where interference is rampant and there are five ISPs working in the same band – JET ensures higher than 99.9% network uptime with lowest latency and jitter. With JET PRO we’re cementing our competitive advantage in the market by providing the highest throughput, and are also realizing major cost savings by eliminating 3.5 GHz procurement expenses.”

Tiane Barreto, Country Manager, Mozambique and Angola at Stratosat Datacom: “We recommend RADWIN’s JET carrier-grade PtMP solutions to service providers whose goal is to deliver enterprise class service to subscribers. RADWIN’s Bi-beam technology incorporates a Beamforming antenna and a smart air interface and from our experience, service providers who’ve deployed JET in their networks make it their product of choice.”

Peter Turvey, GM Middle East, South & East Africa, RADWIN: “More and more service providers like IS Mozambique are using JET in the 5.x GHz band to deliver high quality SLA-based services to enterprises and homes. RADWIN enables operators like IS to make the shift from the burden of high licensed spectrum costs, the disadvantages of limited spectrum (especially considering how little spectrum regulators license), without having to sacrifice either reliability, availability or capacity. Providing throughout of up to 750 Mbps per sector, the JET Point-to-Multipoint solutions are an excellent and cost-effective alternative to fiber and copper and can be up and running in mere hours, allowing service providers to get clients signed up quickly.”
