The Ministry of Labor and Social Development and stc Group signed a memorandum of understanding to build a strategic partnership in several areas and benefit from each other’s experiences to achieve their strategic goals in harmony with the goals of the Kingdom's 2030 vision.
The signing took place in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Labor and Social Development Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, and the CEO of stc Group Eng. Nasser Sulaiman Al Nasser, and His Excellency Assistant Minister of Labor and Social Development, Engineer Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Jasser.
The memorandum was signed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Undersecretary for Strategic Affairs, Rashid bin Muhammad Al-Jalajel, and from stc, Senior Vice President of the Business Unit, Eng. Riyadh bin Saeed Muawad.
The memo includes enabling digital transformation, training, qualifying and employing those who benefit from the Ministry’s training and employment opportunities, providing data and internet solutions and services at high speed, in accordance with international standards, as well as wired and wireless phone lines and IP Telephony services, and the development of fast, effective and high-quality communication and coordination tools for VIPs through technical support mechanisms and rapid response to malfunctions, awareness and media campaigns, and sponsored activities and events in accordance with the regulations and policies adopted by both parties.
Additionally, they commit to providing all the infrastructure services required to raise the level of services provided and promoted, and provide (40) seats for the leadership training project for women leaders in the company stc and its subsidiaries and sister companies, and contribute with the Ministry in adopting remote work projects, seasonal jobs, and hourly jobs.
Moreover, benefiting from the short message service, with the aim of raising awareness and social linkage especially for expatriates, and working to develop a motivational and discretionary system for volunteers, including the implementation of the (priority to them) initiative in all stc facilities and its subsidiaries.
That is in addition to cooperation in programs and initiatives for development and social responsibility, including the empowerment programs for charitable societies, grant and support programs, the specialized volunteering program, and the program for enabling the internal and operational procedures within associations.
The two parties will also cooperate to work on setting a plan aimed at raising the Emiratization rates in the subsidiaries and sister companies of stc and raising the Emiratization rates in the specialized professions of communication and information technology, stipulating mandatory Emiratization ratios for corporate contracts, preparing the spatial environment to be a work environment suitable for persons with disabilities, and applying women's work requirements, occupational health and safety, the development of knowledge-sharing programs, specifically digital transformation, and cooperation in studies related to the telecommunications sector with the aim of improving service delivery to beneficiaries.
His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Labor and Social Development, Eng. Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Jasser said: This cooperation comes from the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision and falls in line with the strategic goals to support communication channels between government agencies on the one hand and between the citizen and the private sector on the other hand. It also facilitates smart methods of communication and follows the message of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to work on developing plans for achieving social economic development and the development of the national economic policy, and the desire of the Ministry to build a fruitful partnership and cooperation with various government and private agencies and sectors for the benefit of the users of their services.
For his part, Eng. Riyadh Muawad, the Senior Vice President of the Business Sector at stc, emphasized that the company is working through its innovative technical solutions to contribute to enabling all sectors of the country to digitize its services; that digital transformation is one of the pillars of the Kingdom’s vision through which it seeks to raise the quality of services provided to citizens. He also noted that the strategic partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development will enable the ministry to play its primary role in training, qualifying and employing the sons and daughters of the country, saying: "We are proud to be part of this huge project that will benefit the country, and will achieve the goals of leadership by localizing business in different fields."
