Magenta Telekom picks Mavenir to provide software-defined voice services

Mavenir, the network software provider building the future of networks with cloud-native solutions that work on any cloud, and Magenta Telekom, the second largest mobile or fixed line operator in Austria, announced that Mavenir's end-to-end solution, Cloud-Native IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem), will be used to enable software-defined voice services for end users of Magenta Telekom's network.

The comprehensive Cloud-Native IMS solution , based entirely on Mavenir's microservices, will be used to provide voice services over LTE (VoLTE) and Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi) to Magenta Telekom customers, paving the way for tomorrow's delivery of voice over new radio (VoNR) services, including voice over 5G and real-time communication over the Web (WebRTC).

The solution enables a single IMS investment to support multiple generations of voice services, ensures service and feature parity with VNF and CNF deployments, and facilitates voice continuity between 4G and 5G.

Powered by Mavenir's cloud automation solution and an in-any-cloud strategy, without legacy hardware platforms or migration from a fixed IMS, Mavenir's Cloud-Native IMS delivers a high level of resilience for essential uses, reduces operational complexity and cost per subscriber for voice services. It also accelerates time to market through increased automation of deployment, updating, upgrading, and validation and testing.

Mavenir's Cloud-Native IMS core networks provide next-generation communications services, which enable users to collaborate using voice, video and messaging solutions.
