Delivering new age Ethernet based services to its customers, Singapore's M1 has expanded its GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) fibre service to offer speeds of up to 10Gbps for its enterprise customers.
M1’s new XGPON services, Singapore’s first 2Gbps to 10Gbps GPON services, are designed to address the industry’s gap in such corporate connectivity options.
With M1’s new services, which complement its GPON services of up to 1Gbps, and 10Gbps Active Ethernet service, Singapore’s fastest fibre service on the national fibre network, M1 now offers Singapore’s most extensive range of corporate GPON connectivity services.
The new XGPON services, priced at S$1,088 per month for a 2Gbps service to S$2,888 for a 10Gbps service, are available immediately on the national fibre network islandwide to M1’s corporate customers. They will be extended to consumers by end-2015.
“We continually expand our suite of solutions, such as our 10Gbps Active Ethernet service, state-of-the-art data centre and cloud-based offerings, to meet the needs of the corporate segment. Through our engagement with customers, we recognise there is pent-up demand for a scalable and cost-effective connectivity service, especially from businesses with high-bandwidth requirements such as gaming and media companies, something not available previously. Today, we are pleased to further expand our product offerings with a competitively-priced GPON service that can scale from 2Gbps to speeds of up to 10Gbps, to meet this segment’s needs,” said Willis Sim, Chief Product Development & Corporate Solutions Officer, M1.
“We have been using M1’s 1GB Active Ethernet service for a number of years now, and this has served us well in our printing and application technology business. Our bandwidth requirements have grown alongside our business, and M1’s competitively-priced new XGPON service will enable us to enhance our technology infrastructure efficiently,” said Johnson Yau, Senior Sales & Marketing Director, MediaLink Printing Services Pte Ltd.
