India’s homegrown mobile handset maker Karbonn Mobiles is inches away from releasing its LTE enabled handset. The company’s Managing Director, Pardeep Jain has informed that the company is almost ready with its own 4G ready smartphone specifically made for India.

“We will be the first Indian brand to launch LTE device. We are investing quite heavily on research and development activities and as result, we are always in a position to deliver best in class technology for our customers. As the industry moves towards 4G, our LTE device is almost ready and we will announce it at the right time. And when we have such devices, we would surely be looking at operator arrangements,” he explained.

The company which started its operations in the year 2009 has moved well as a serious mobile player and as a result, it has its operations spread across more than 40 countries today. The sheer availability of multiple sets of handset choice is what, clearly differentiates Karbonn from other players.

And in keeping with its trend of making available different technologies and standards, Karbonn is also looking forward to announcing Windows enabled handsets in the price band of Rs 4,500 to Rs 6,500.

“We have invested quite a bit on the development of our Windows phone. We will be launching two models in May, 2014. These would be running on Qualcom chips and range between Rs 4,500 to Rs 6,500 range,” he added.

Karbonn has emerged as the 3rd largest mobile phone brand in India with an annual sales turnover that is expected to cross Rs. 4500 Crores in FY 2013-14. Karbonn has widespread distribution presence in India with over 85,000 retail partners and 870+ service centers across the country.
