India's Spice Mobility expands into international markets with Android One

After an impressive launch in India, leading Indian mobile internet conglomerate Spice Mobility has launched the Android One smartphone internationally in Indonesia, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

In line with the company’s vision to introduce latest technology products at affordable prices, Spice Mobility has launched Android One beyond India to increase its international footprint and cater to the fast growing mobile phone markets in Asia. With an increasing demand for smartphones in these countries, the company anticipates an excellent response from customers towards the popular Android One smartphone, launched in association with Google.

In Indonesia, Spice Mobility has launched the Android One phones under the brand name Nexian Journey One, which will be the first brand in the world to launch Android One with the latest version of Android Lollipop 5.1. The latest version of the operating system offers improved battery life, enhanced security features and smarter notifications.

The Android One smartphone is a dual SIM 3G smart device, powered with an impressive 1.3 GHz Quad core Processor. The phone has a sleek design with a 11.43 cm (4.5 inch) IPS display and features an expandable storage capacity of 32GB to store a large amount of music, movies, photos and video files. The 5 MP Auto Focus rear camera clicks sharp images while the 2 MP front camera will appeal to selfie lovers.

Spice Mobility also recently announced an investment of Rs 500 crores to set up a local manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh to expand its operations in the country and cater to export markets. The company has a strong market position in India, primarily catering to Tier II and Tier III markets with an innovative and affordable range of phones.
