Huawei Honor goes offline to strengthen its presence in India

With an aim to enable the offline availability of its handsets, Honor, an independent Internet Smartphone brand under Huawei Terminals is partnering with Zopper, India’s hyper local marketplace for consumer durables and home appliances.

This tie-up marks the Honor brand going offline, to strengthen its market share in India. Till date, Honor smartphones were only available in India, online, on the e-commerce portal Flipkart.com and snapdeal.

Since its launch in October 2014, Honor has launched a range of very successful models across price segments, include Honor Bee and Honor 4C in the entry level, Honor 4X, Honor 6 and Honor Holly in the mid-range, and Honor 6 plus and Honor 7, in the premium segment.

Honor in collaboration with Zopper is poised to reach out to 267 outlets in Delhi NCR( Gurgaon, Faridabad), Chennai, Vellore, Pondicherry and Bangalore and provide them with exciting offers on the Honor products. The products would sell at the same prices that were available online i.e. Honor 4x will be priced at INR 9999/- for both Black and White variants and Honor 6 will be available at INR 14999/-

Zopper is an app that allows a customer to choose the retailer with the best price for a product, from over 10,000+ online and offline retailers, thus creating a unique shopping experience. Through this partnership customers can avail a 5% cashback on Honor phones till 24th December along with a free 1 year accidental damage/liquid damage bundled with all Huawei smartphones bought through Zopper.

Commenting on the announcement, Allen Wang, President of Consumer Business Group, Huawei India said, “We are very encouraged with the response we have received for our Honor smartphonesin India, including the Honor 4X, Honor 6 Plus and Honor 7. To reinforce our commitment towards our customers in India, and allow a higher level of access to Honor smartphones, we have decided to introduce Honor smartphones in the offline sales channel, which starts with the tie-up with Zopper, which allow customers to choose the retailer offering the best price for a product”

Commenting on the tie-up, Harneet Singh Rajpal, CBO, Zopper, said “Zopper is an app that allows a customer to choose the retailer with the best price for a product, from over 10,000+ online and offline retailers. The app caters to the urban mobile-savvy consumer, who wishes to find the best local deals through pricing and product comparison. Honor is a modern brand targeted at the youth, and we believe that Honor will receive strong traction and sales on Zopper.”
