With the launch of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India campaign, the Indian government has a vision to build a “digital India” where 1.2 billion connected Indians drive innovation.
India today is on the radar screen of the world’s biggest Internet and telecom behemouths as they view new business opportunities. At the ‘Digital India’ launch ceremony, Indian companies including Aditya Birla Group, Bharti Group, Reliance Industries, Reliance Group, Tata Group, Vedanta Group, etc. committed investments exceeding Rs. 4.5 lakh crore (US$68 billion) towards this campaign.
Other technology companies including Amazon, Foxconn, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and Qualcomm etc. have expressed support to the prime minister, and have allocated budgets to invest in the Digital India campaign. Facebook alone, has joined hands with BSNL with an allocation of Rs. 5 crore per annum to sponsor 100 wi-fi hotspots in rural western and southern India.
India is in the midst of a digital revolution, and the 24th edition of Convergence India 2016 expo at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 20 – 22 January 2016 will showcase the latest trends and technologies to contribute towards the ‘Digital India’ vision.

The three-day international exhibition and conference will provide the ICT fraternity valuable insights into the technologies and services of tomorrow. At Convergence India 2016 expo, visitors can network with leading industry players from around the globe.
The Convergence India series of expos receive support from the Government of India, and industry associations including the Broadband India Forum (BIF), Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA), The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), Electronic Industries Association of India, The Internet Service Providers Association of India (ISPAI), Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (TEMA), CMAI etc.
The event is also promoted by international associations like Asia- Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC), The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), and the World Teleport Association (WTA), Wimax Forum, UMTS Forum, etc.
