Telia Company is part of the digital pilot eSFI which aims at finding new innovative ways for language learning which in turn will lead to a quicker introduction for immigrants into society and the labor market.

The pilot project, eSFI, is carried out during the autumn of 2018 at Sfinx (Swedish for immigrant engineers and architects) in the Järfälla municipality close to Stockholm. Roughly 20 students and two teachers participate in the pilot and the intention is that the digital and individually designed digital tools will improve the student’s learning of Swedish.

Telia Company, who started the initiative, provides connectivity in the pilot project and co-operates with the municipality, Samsung and CanopyLAB which has developed a digital platform for learning purposes.

“Our sustainability approach - Digital impact - is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the purpose of making sure business strategy and activities such as innovation contribute to the SDGs. Through Digital Impact we contribute to societal development and especially to important focus areas such as schools, education and integration. eSFI enables a wider access to learning and education and a simpler access to relevant content,” says Ivo Kukavica, Innovation Catalyst at Telia Company.
