As part of its 19th Goodwill Journey, one of Ooredoo’s most impactful community-based initiatives taking place during Ramadan every year, the company partnered with three major players in Oman to bring the spirit of the Holy month to communities in different regions.

This year, the flagship event was run in cooperation with Shell Oman Marketing Company; Mwasalat, the public transportation provider; the charity organisation Dar Al Atta’a; and Talabat, the regional food and groceries deliveries platform.

As part of the partnerships, Ooredoo signed agreements with Mwasalat to provide services for people with disabilities in Wilayat Shinas. Meanwhile, Shell Oman Marketing Company provided Shell V-Power, Shell Oman’s best performance fuel, for the cars of the volunteers who had to travel thousands of kilometres to visit different communities across Oman. Additionally, Ooredoo teamed up with talabat to distribute meals during Ramadan through Dar Al Atta’a.

Ooredoo and Partners Spark Opportunities in Communities Across Oman during Goodwill JourneyAs every year, a team of volunteers set off on a Journey to regions across Oman to support and benefit communities. As part of this year’s activities, Ooredoo launched a new women’s incubator to support the professional development of more than 5,000 women in Nakhal in the Al Batinah region. In the same area, a host of fun-filled activities were put on for the occasion of Qaranqasho, a traditional celebration to mark the 14th night of the Holy Month. Additionally, food hampers were distributed to over 500 families in Barka.

In the true spirit of Ramadan, a visit was paid to the Governorate of Al Buraimi and Wilayat Bukha in Musandam to help families in need. The company also partnered with the Al Buraimi Charitable Team and the Omani Women’s Associations in Nakhal in Al Batinah and in Bahla in Al Dakhiliyah, to share Iftar meals together at branches of the Omani Association for Elderly Friends. And once again in collaboration with Al Buraimi Charitable Team, the team distributed Iftar Sa’am boxes to people in Al Ain.

The annual Goodwill Journey is part of Ooredoo’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, which aims to give back to the communities it serves by having a positive impact on people’s lives, livelihoods and the economy. Ever since its launch in 2005, volunteers have travelled thousands of kilometres across Oman on behalf of Ooredoo and have created a positive, measurable and sustainable impact on the lives of thousands of people.
