Edgecore Networks to Showcase open networking solutions at CommunicAsia 2016

Edgecore Networks is all set to showcase its open networking solutions together with its enterprise wire and wireless solution at the upcoming CommunicAsia 2016 during May 31 to June 3.

Edgecore Networks, is a provider of traditional and open network solutions for enterprises, data centers and telecommunication service providers, today announced that it will display its open networking solutions and enterprise wired and wireless solutions in the upcoming CommunicAsia 2016 in Singapore.

Edgecore Networks is a provider of open networking, providing systems to many of the mega scale data centre and cloud service providers. It’s also behind one of the largest Wi-Fi networks deployed in Turkey, with in excess of 90 thousand access points. Edgecore Networks offers a wide portfolio of managed and open Layer 2 and 3 switch systems and Wi-Fi network systems.

Edgecore Networks specialise in open networking, with a full line up of open Wi-Fi access points and 1GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, 40GbE, 50GbE and 100GbE OCP-accepted switches. These ONS (Open Network Software) switches support a choice of NOS (Network Operating System), and SDN software, for data center, telecommunications and enterprise networks.

At the recent Open Compute Project summit, Edgecore announced 10 new open product designs, including 3 open Wi-Fi Access Point designs, 2 open provider edge switches with high capacity off chip memory, a new open stackable access switch, available 4 in versions, including PoE, with UPoE (60W) supported on eight ports, and finally Edgecore’s new flag ship OMP (Open Modular Platform), supporting 256 and 512 100GbE ports in a scalable and compact design, offering savings in space, power, simplified cabling and lower total cost of ownership.

At CommunicAsia 2016, the company will be exhibiting its open network switches including the 1GbE PoE, 32 x 100GbE, and Facebook Wedge. In addition, the company will have on show the recently announced Open Wi-Fi Access Points, extending open networking to wireless as well as wired systems.

George will discuss use cases for open networks in enterprises and service providers, and how technology advancements in open network hardware design enables disaggregation, reduced cost, increased capacity, and improved flexibility.
