“India is a very exciting place today, especially when it comes to smartphones. Here we have operators pushing to drive affordability of 4G devices. And the government is also supporting the drive towards digital enablement. Their ‘digital India’ initiative envisions daily transactions to be done on a smartphone. All this is making India a very important market today,” explained, Carl Ngo Co-founder and CEO of Mobiistar.

Business Strategy for Online Presence

When it comes to devising its business strategy, Mobiistar is targeting the online space to initiate its operations here. “As a smartphone company you it is very important to understand the market and to also understand how your partner will sell the product. You need to get answers on how your partner will persuade customers to come and buy your products? How easy it is for customers to buy your products? I clearly see that here 30 per cent of market is online. And today, India is moving towards further strengthening its Internet infrastructure, supply chain infrastructure, service infrastructure – so there is much bigger potential in the online space. On the other hand, there is big potential in the offline space as well – especially when it comes to targeting the smaller towns and places of the country. We do have plan for targeting the offline space as well, but we are initiating our operations by focusing on the online side,” he added.

Mobiistar has launched two selfie centric smartphones - XQ Dual and CQ in India. The XQ Dual selfie smartphone will be available at INR 7,999/- and the CQ smartphone will be available at INR 4,999/-.

In line with its philosophy on initiating its operations with online availability of its products, Mobiistar has also announced a long-term partnership with e-commerce platform Flipkart. Both Star Selfie series smartphones XQ Dual and CQ will be available on the Flipkart exclusively from 30th May 2018, 12PM onwards.
