The second day of the 24th Convergence India 2016 expo observed leading names from the ICT industry continuing their discussion on building blocks that are integral to the success of the Digital India mission, namely: mobile broadband, broadcasting, digital wallets, big data & cloud, and IoT.

The opening session for the day began with ‘Digital India- Technologies & applications for citizen services including Rural Broadband’, saw presentation by A.K. Choudhary, I.T.S., Development Commissioner, Sri City, SEZ, Telangana, India, who said: “The source of computing and technology will be driving force for communication revolution. Such innovation and excellence, will not only empower citizens, but also empower India in its mission to become the most developing economy. Broadband technology shall connect business and individuals to the global market place, and the larger economy.”

Important topics for the day included detailed discussion on ‘Digital wallets propagating e-commerce in India’, saw one of the panelist, Vikram Upadhyaya, Chief Mentor & Accelerator Evangelist, GHV Accelerator, who said: “Global market is witnessing a paradigm shift in Indian ICT and Startup India is going to play a key role. Indian ICT skills are the backbone of Start-up Era. Digital India will be attracting 10Bn US$ in next 5 years”

Also, present on the dais, Probir Roy, Co-Founder, Paymate, India said: “The Indian digital industry is on track to become the fastest growing in the World. In all respects. With I billion mobile customers, 400 million internet users and 900 million UID’s. It is poised to explode. Are we ready? Time to Stand up India. Deliver India.”

“Building an Apps & Gaming ecosystem” was a trending session on the 2nd day of the 24th Convergence India 2016 expo which was moderated by Rahul N. Bhardwaj, Co-Founder & COO, Junglee Games, India, said: "We are witnessing the revolution of our basic ecosystem at all levels. How we eat, travel, play are all changing and its Digital essence can be found here at the expo. These Digital solutions for India will play a key role in pushing India to the forefront of the First World."

A Keynote address was given by Ajit Balakrishnan, Founder & CEO, Rediff.com, India said: “I believe broadband is more critical a national infrastructure than roads and bridges for creating jobs for young people and generating GDP growth.”
