After achieving huge success of CommuniCast 2014, the event will be co-locating with the International Myanmar ICT Exhibition for its return in 2015 – emphasising the demand for a professional platform for the emerging and fast-developing Myanmar ICT industry to meet.

The co-location of events (to be hosted from 17-19 November 2015 at Myanmar Event Park, Yangon) provides the opportunity for the full spectrum of the ICT economy to be under one roof, from satellite and broadband through to mobile and enterprise solutions.

Both events are successful in their own rights; over 90 companies from 22 countries, and 2086 mobile, satellite and telecommunications professionals from around the world attended the first edition of CommuniCast.

The International Myanmar ICT Exhibition, historically organised by the CommuniCast 2014 official endorser, the Myanmar Computer Federation, is fully subscribed every year in its current venue. Combining the two events in a larger venue will reinforce attendance by Myanmar’s leading decision-makers.

President of the Myanmar Computer Federation, U Khun Oo said: “We are delighted to join forces with the organisers of CommuniCast Myanmar to work together on one annual international event, to project Myanmar’s fast evolving ICT industry in a professional exhibition environment and to help match international companies with local partners to accelerate growth. ICT is at the very heart of the economy and offers opportunities across all sectors.”

With a population exceeding 51 million, Myanmar, previously known as Burma, is still at the threshold of take-off both in the supply of essential telecom services in the key metropolitan areas and first stage service availability across the whole country. With the teledensity of the country targeted to reach 75% by the end of the 2015/2016 financial year, the opportunities for suppliers are bright, especially since the ISP, broadband, banking and broadcasting markets have opened up.

The Myanmar Computer Federation is at the forefront in emphasising the development of Myanmar as a software development hub. With more than 12,000 professional members, under the umbrella of Myanmar Computer Professionals Association, ICT is the country’s leading focal point for economic growth. The Myanmar Computer Federation is acting as Myanmar’s bridge between the Myanmar government and the abundance of opportunities across all ICT, satellite and mobile technologies as the country plays catch up with its ASEAN neighbours.

The CommuniCast Myanmar event will return from 17-19 November 2015 at Myanmar Event Park, Yangon and is supported by both the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information. The second Myanmar Satellite Forum will be held on 18 November 2015.

Information on CommuniCast Myanmar 2015 will be available from stand BT4-05, Level B2, Sands Expo and Convention Centre at CommunicAsia from 2-5 June in Singapore.
