At a time when the city of Chennai is reeling under tremendous pressure from the unprecedented floods, Paytm and Vodafone are coming forward to initiate their support towards their customers in Chennai.
Paytm, India’s largest mobile payment and commerce platform is doing its bit to offer relief and assistance to the residents of flood-stricken Chennai. Amidst the deluge, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to stay connected with family and friends.
Residents can call on 18001030033 and share the mobile number that they want to get topped-up. Paytm will facilitate a Rs 30 recharge instantly and absolutely free of cost.
The idea is to enable people to stay in touch at this time of natural distress. The humble but highly impactful initiative from Paytm has elicited a very positive response from Chennai residents on social media.
In fact, inspired by the move, many Paytm users are coming out to help others in their personal capacity by offering mobile recharges. Those who wish to extend support independently on social media can use the following hashtags on twitter: #ChennaiFloods and/or #ChennaiRains.
