In an interesting move, Bharti Airtel, the country’s largest telecom operator, has reduced the data benefits of its INR 149 and INR 399 prepaid plans. This development comes at a time when data is largely seen as one of the most attractive commodity in the new age developing telecoms world.
It is important to note that, earlier this month, Airtel offered 2GB data per day benefit with its INR 149 prepaid plan for select users, while the INR 399 prepaid plan was giving 2.4 GB per day data for 84 days - and now according to our sources, Airtel has reduced the data of these plans, and these plans are back to delivering the normal benefits again.
Airtel has made an interesting move by reducing the data benefits for its prepaid customers, it is now to be seen, how its competition - Reliance Jio - reacts to this development.
As a result of this rejig, Airtel’s INR 149 plan is now offering 1GB data per day for 28 days for select users, while on the other hand, the INR 399 plan is giving the normal 1.4 GB data benefit for 84 days for select users.
From the top view, the INR 149 prepaid plan from Airtel now offers 1GB data per day which makes it 28 GB data benefit for the validity period, unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit and 100 SMS per day for a period of 28 days.
On the other hand, the INR 399 plan is valid for 84 days and is currently giving 1.4 GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 84 days. Airtel customers can check the validity of the plan by heading over to My Airtel app or Airtel website.
