Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”), India’s largest telecommunications services provider, has launched its 2G and 3G mobile services in towns of Lumla, Nafra and Longding in Arunachal Pradesh under its network transformation program “Project Leap”.
This is also the first time that customers in these towns will have access to 3G mobile services.
Airtel is the largest mobile services provider in Arunachal Pradesh and offers 2G, 3G and 4G services to customers. Airtel was also the first operator to launch 3G in the state and is the only operator that offers 4G in Arunachal Pradesh. Airtel has connected important towns like Bomdilla, Naharlagun, Daporijo, Itanagar, Tawang and Zero with superfast 4G.

Airtel is also the largest mobile operator in North East and Assam. Airtel’s mobile network currently covers close to half of the total population of Arunachal Pradesh. Airtel’s network umbrella in the region covers key areas including Palin, Seppa, Sagalee, Zero, Daporijo, Raga, Along, Pasighat, Khonsa, Basar. Bomdila, Deomali, Jairampur, Naharlagun, Namsai, Jang, Sela Pass, Tenga valley, Bhalukpung, Jamiri, Bana, Sinchung, Yachuli, Mahadevpur, Changlang, Balijan, Dirang, Rupa, Sessa, Mebo, Potin, Lohit, Holangi, and Tippi.
Earlier in November 2015, Airtel launched its Rs. 60,000 crore network transformation and expansion program ‘Project Leap’ aimed at perceptibly improving network quality and delivering the best customer experience. It also launched a special website www.airtel.in/leap that allows customers to know everything they want to know on how Project Leap, is progressing in their respective localities.
