Bharti Airtel Limited (“Airtel”), India’s no. 1 operator and the third largest mobile services provider globally with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, has strengthened its network in Kumbakonam and its adjacent towns ahead of the Mahamaham Festival.
About 50 lakh people attend Mahamaham Festival that happens every 12 years. In order to provide top-class connectivity to its customers during the week-long festival, Airtel has added temporary sites with higher capacity near Mahamaham Tank & Portramarai Tank, COW sites at all temporary bus stands & new sites around the temple in Kumbakonam. In addition capacity has been expanded for sites in Kumbakonam and adjacent towns of Tanjore, Trichy, Tiruvarur and Mayiladuthurai to accommodate additional traffic.
