Telenor Group has announced that Gry Rohde Nordhus has been appointed Senior Vice President and Head of Communications. She joins from Siemens AS, where she served as Nordic Director of Communications, Government Relations and Sustainability.
“Gry is an experienced and business-oriented communication leader with a genuine interest in digital solutions. Her experience from Siemens, another global technology leader, is highly relevant for Telenor. She will bring a strong strategic focus to our global communications work, and play an important role in the positioning of Telenor both in Norway and internationally,” says Sigve Brekke, President and CEO of Telenor Group.
Nordhus has held several management positions at Siemens since joining the company in 2005, both in Norway and internationally. In addition to her role, she has recently headed a Nordic programme to improve digital skills among Siemens employees. From 2011 to 2013, Nordhus served as Communications Director for Siemens in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining Siemens, she worked as communication and marketing director at a leading Norwegian law firm, as managing director at a local PR agency, and as communication manager at IBM Norway.
“I view communications as an integral part of business development, leadership and corporate citizenship. Telenor Group’s role in empowering societies and connecting people to what matters most represents a significant communication opportunity, and I’m thrilled to get to work with some of the most qualified communication professionals in the industry,” Nordhus says.
Nordhus will report to Anne Kvam, Telenor Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and will assume her position on 1 April 2019. Until then, Atle Lessum will continue to act as SVP and Head of Telenor Group Communications.
