PepperTap – an on-demand hyperlocal grocery delivery service, has closed its Series B round of funding; with an additional $4 millon from Innoven Capital, in addition to the $36 million raised recently from SnapDeal, Sequoia India, SAIF Partners, Ru-Net, Beenext & JAFCO Asia. Total fund raise in PepperTap now stands at around $51.2 million.
Peppertap has taken over Bangalore based hyperlocal grocery delivery startup, Jiffstore for an undisclosed amount. Jiffstore’s team will join PepperTap’s Gurgaon and Bengaluru offices. Peppertap aims to use synergies with Jiffstore to build an excellent customer experience.
Brand alliances and new product launches: PepperTap has been readily expanding its product offerings to provide a more satisfying grocery shopping experience to customers, and to offer a marketing channel to large FMCG companies. The last few weeks have been buzzing with new product launches, samplings and attractive daily deals.
Of late large FMCG companies too have been seen launching their sampling campaigns or new products like Lipton Ice Tea, Amira Rice, Tata Grand Coffee, Sprite Zero, Coke Zero and Dabur Yoodley on the PepperTap app.
Marketing initiatives for customer engagement – Bringing the startup community together: PepperTap has entered into marketing tie-ups with other start-ups who will collaborate with them in a cross-marketing activity to bring attractive gifts for the users.
Partners App: All poised to be the next big thing for vendors associated with PepperTap, this app will see two versions – one for organised retail chains and another for standalone vendors. By logging in, the business representative will be able to see a comprehensive picture of his performance with PepperTap. This in turn will allow him to take better decisions on stocks, quantities and inventory management.
Technology upgradation with new app features: Peppertap has been at the forefront of offering an enhanced app-experience to its users. In an industry first, it introduced a revolutionary Live Chat feature in the app, where users can interact with the support staff and get their queries answered in a jiffy. This makes a customer’s grocery shopping experience interactive, engaging and instant! The super-efficient feature eliminates the need to wait for the customer care to answer the phone or for the field executive to turn up with deliveries to seek clarifications. PepperTap believes that if your order doesn’t have to wait for more than 2 hours, why should the assistance?!
