MapmyIndia aligns with ISRO, Idea Cellular and more Make in India alliances

MapmyIndia additionally shared details at the conference of its collaboration with Reverie Language Technologies for full localization of MapmyIndia map in Indian languages and access through multi-lingual keyboard assistant app with map and eLoc integrated, with Visit Health for a AI-powered Telemedicine Platform integrated with map and GPS for a Swasth Bharat solution, and with Udacity India to
strengthen the self-driving engineering ecosystem in India.

MapmyIndia also gave away prizes to the winners of its contest for AppmyIndia app developers, idea innovators, and ad creators, who were given the task of coming up with apps, ideas and ads that can help India become better and smarter through maps and location technologies. MapmyIndia shared how it is encouraging broad based innovation across India through its AppmyIndia developer and startup platform, and is working closely with LetsVenture, India’s largest startup funding platform, to help promising AppmyIndia startups receive angel funding, and working with BITS Pilani, one of India’s premier engineering universities, to focus on deep tech and fundamental research that can solve India and the world’s most challenging problems by leveraging and advancing maps and location technologies.

ISRO & MapmyIndia Alliance:

ISRO is best known for its satellite based mapping portal, Bhuvan, which captures India from space and offers a series of satellite imageries and remote sensing maps, which can be updated in near real time in case of disaster. ISRO recently also launched NAVIC, India’s indigenous satellite navigation system. MapmyIndia offers India’s best maps and location technologies. ISRO’s Bhuvan, MapmyIndia’s Maps and Navic have all been integrated for the most powerful, completely Indian and indigenous joint solution of space, ground and satellite mapping and navigation technologies. MapmyIndia has built a fisherman and coast guard alert app to help prevent fishermen from straying beyond Indian waters through the tracking and geofencing features in its Map app. Also, MapmyIndia and Bhuvan have been integrated to give any government, business or consumer user the best of locally made maps and satellite images and hybrid layers, which can be updated in near-real time in case of disaster.

Idea and MapmyIndia’s joint solution for Logistics Tracking:

The logistics industry of India is highly fragmented and dominated by small players (truck owners). More than 95% of logistics industry is dominated by 3rd party trucks being used by manufacturing and supply chain companies. Being the backbone of India Inc’s infrastructure, supply chain industry is undergoing a huge transition. Visibility of a shipment on real time basis is a key component of monitoring and optimizing logistics performance.

Idea Business Solutions (IBS) has been working very closely with the manufacturing and logistics industries in India for addressing their requirements. IBS presents the first of its kind GSM based tracking solution for the logistics industry.

The solution is targeted towards 3rd party logistics trucks, zero CAPEX and low OPEX functions. It utilizes the GSM network capabilities of Idea Cellular, to track any shipment in India, using an Idea SIM.

Aatapaha and MapmyIndia’s joint solution for Street Light Automation:

Automation of street lamps is essential for smooth functioning of any city. Aatapaha is a company that specializes in street light automation technologies and associated services. Aatapaha recently won the biggest order for street light automation in India from EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Limited). This project is to automate 1.5 million street lamps across India with over 19000 CCMS panels. Aatapaha has already begun execution of this project and meanwhile has start processing other OEM projects as well. Aatapaha’s biggest USPs are its in-house production and R&D facilities.

The joint solution by Aatapaha and MapmyIndia for smart street light automation, also referred to as CCMS (Centralized Control and Monitoring System), runs on GPRS technology and connects to a server applications that records events and energy data for each feeder point in the city.

Aatapaha recently joined hands with MapmyIndia to integrate Aatapaha’s IoT hardware with MapmyIndia’s InTouch platform and app, that allows the street lights to be remotely monitored, controlled, managed and make the solution extensible for features like location based analytics, emergency services, maintenance services, to name a few.
